18June2015 Working the 4-H Cake Booth

I’ve blogged about this before, but every year we go to the Alameda County Fair to help work at the 4-H Cake Booth, where 4-H members from Alameda County work shifts selling cake and drinks to help raise money for the county 4-H office. Luke loves working the booth, and Jack is a veteran at this point. I forgot that Luke and Daddy would be gone during our assigned shift, but luckily they needed workers in June, and so off we went. Luke helped serve customers and sweeping and cleaning the sugar/straw table, while Jack worked cutting cakes and keeping the drinks made. Not necessarily fun for Jack, but definitely for Luke!

We also stopped by the Young California Building to see the Amateur Naturalist poster that Luke and the other project members made, and WON! They recieved a first prize ribbon and Judge’s favorite. The kids truly put their own stamp on the poster, so it was nice to see that creativity and work rewarded.
